LexisNexis Risk Solutions Acquires IDVerse to Enhance AI-Powered Fraud Detection
LexisNexis Risk Solutions has completed its acquisition of IDVerse, a provider of AI-powered document authentication and fraud detection solutions, announced in a press release. This acquisition aims to expand LexisNexis' capabilities in risk and fraud solutions, enhancing digital identity onboarding and verification.
IDVerse, founded in Australia and launched commercially in 2018, uses AI to combat fraud and deepfakes. Its technology, powered by a deep neural network, verifies the authenticity of identity documents and matches the consumer's face to the photo on a document using biometric algorithms. This technology is capable of verifying over 16,000 types of identity documents globally.
The integration of IDVerse into LexisNexis Risk Solutions will offer clients more robust risk insights, promoting financial inclusion and helping organizations maintain an optimal risk posture. The combined technologies will address evolving customer needs and emerging threats, bolstering defenses against AI-generated fraud with advanced fraud detection and faster model updates.
Rick Trainor, CEO of Business Services at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, emphasized the importance of advancing anti-fraud capabilities to keep pace with fraudsters' tactics. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
