Kong Introduces Ascent to Speed Legacy API Migrations for AI Integration
Kong Inc. announced in a press release the launch of Kong Ascent, an AI-assisted migration service designed to help enterprises modernize their API infrastructure and prepare for agentic AI. The tool automates and accelerates the transition from legacy API management platforms to Kong Konnect, reducing migration timelines by at least 50 percent.
Ascent introduces AI automation throughout the migration lifecycle, supported by Kong Professional Services. It enables organizations to move off older systems and onto Kong Konnect, which unifies API, event, and agent connectivity within a single platform. This transition helps enterprises secure agent access, monitor AI activity, and manage agent-driven workflows.
Kong Konnect allows customers to expose APIs to AI agents, manage access through its AI Gateway, and apply consistent governance across traditional and AI workloads. Ascent is currently available for migrations from MuleSoft environments, with additional platform support planned.
