Jetstream Venture Fund Takes Stake in Shield AI to Expand Aerospace Portfolio
Jetstream Venture Fund has established an interest in Shield AI, a defense technology company developing autonomous aircraft powered by artificial intelligence, announced in a press release. The investment aligns with Jetstream’s strategy to expand its portfolio in air and space technologies.
Founded in 2015, Shield AI is valued at 12.7 billion dollars as of March 2026. The company’s core product, Hivemind, is an AI pilot that enables drones and aircraft to operate autonomously in environments where GPS or communications are unavailable. The software has been used in six aircraft types, including the V-BAT drone and an F-16 fighter jet, and is deployed with the United States military and allied forces.
Jetstream described the investment as part of its focus on technologies that bring autonomy and intelligence to critical sectors. The fund’s portfolio already includes aerospace companies such as SpaceX, positioning it to target growth opportunities in the expanding air and space economy.
