Brazilian retail technology company Inwave has acquired Swedish Gateway, a provider of electronic article surveillance solutions, to strengthen its European presence and expand its AIoT retail platform.

Inwave has acquired Swedish Gateway, a provider of electronic article surveillance solutions for retail chains, announced in a press release. The acquisition supports the Brazilian company's international expansion strategy and strengthens its operations in Europe.

Founded in 1994, Gateway operates in over 120 countries through a network of 70 distributors. Inwave will retain Gateway's local team in Sweden, including executive Jenny Tielman, and integrate the company's technology with its own AIoT and data intelligence solutions. The combined operations will be managed from bases in Brazil and Europe.

Inwave plans to enhance Gateway's offerings by embedding connectivity and analytics capabilities developed through its Darwin platform, which focuses on loss prevention, operational efficiency, and customer experience. The company currently serves global retailers such as Carrefour, C&A, and Sephora, and expects the acquisition to accelerate its retail technology growth across international markets.

The transaction also includes support from Danish fund DSG, which will help Inwave expand its retail intelligence operations and reinforce Gateway's role as a trusted provider for global retail clients.
