Valstone has acquired Nascent Technology, expanding its technology platform for the industrial transportation sector, announced in a press release. Nascent, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, develops software solutions for terminal operations, including SYNAPSE AGS, enVision, and Orca, which assist railroads, ports, and terminal operators in managing intermodal freight across North America.

Valstone stated that Nascent will join its Industrial Transportation group, which includes previous acquisitions such as PS Technology, GeoMetrix Rail Logistics, and GTMaritime. Together, these companies provide software covering areas such as rail operations, maritime fleet compliance, transportation management, and supply chain execution.

Nascent was acquired from Firmament, with both organizations working closely to ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers. Valstone said Nascent’s existing operations and client commitments will continue without changes, supported by additional resources from the new parent company.

Valstone’s leadership indicated that the acquisition adds long-established capabilities in gate automation and terminal operations while bringing the companies closer to integrating artificial intelligence and automation into the platform.
