MaxQ Medical has closed a $31.5 million Series A financing to advance its prostate care platform, the company announced in a press release. The round was led by Atlantic Blue Ventures, S3 Ventures, and Olympus Innovation Ventures, with participation from existing investor Hillside Capital.
The company said the funds will be used to expand its team and move forward with its clinical program. MaxQ Medical is developing a transurethral system that combines advanced imaging with therapy in one procedure for prostate care.
The first planned indication is benign prostatic hyperplasia. MaxQ Medical also plans to expand the platform into focal therapy for prostate cancer and later into prostate diagnostics, including biopsy and tumor mapping.
