Intuit Enhances TurboTax with Google Cloud AI for Tax Season

Intuit has partnered with Google Cloud to simplify tax preparation for TurboTax users by expanding autofill capabilities for common tax forms using AI technology.

Intuit Inc. has announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to enhance tax preparation for TurboTax users this season. In a press release, Intuit detailed the integration of Google Cloud's Doc AI and Gemini models to expand the autofill capabilities for ten common U.S. tax forms, including 1099 and 1040 forms. This advancement aims to save time and improve accuracy for millions of users.

TurboTax, which processed 44 million U.S. tax returns in 2023, now leverages Intuit's Generative AI Operating System (GenOS) to provide a more personalized tax filing experience. GenOS combines Intuit's data, custom-trained financial large language models, and proprietary tax knowledge with Google Cloud's AI technology to automate data extraction and autofill processes.

The collaboration specifically benefits investors dealing with complex 1099 forms by automating data extraction and reducing manual data entry. This integration is part of Intuit's ongoing efforts to simplify tax preparation and enhance user experience through AI-driven solutions.
