Chargeflow launches Prevent 2.0 for Shopify fraud screening
Chargeflow has launched Prevent 2.0, a new AI model that screens Shopify orders after checkout and before fulfillment, the company said in a press release. Chargeflow says the model catches 10 times more fraud and abuse than its previous version.
The model assesses stolen card use, suspicious delivery patterns and buyers who previously disputed received orders. It uses dispute data from more than 20,000 merchants to identify repeat disputers, including customers placing their first order with a store. Existing Prevent users receive the upgrade automatically.
Chargeflow also analyzed about three million disputes across three peak shopping seasons. During the 2025 Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend, 34.7% of chargebacks claimed an item had not arrived, compared with 19.9% in a normal week. Fraud claims fell from 37.8% in a normal week to 27.2% during that weekend.
Prevent 2.0 is available now for Shopify merchants. New users can scan their first 1,000 transactions free through December 31, 2026. The service will then cost $0.10 for each scanned order or subscription renewal.
