Hanwha moves to invest 70 billion won in robot-dog maker LionRobotics

Nov 8, 2026
Hanwha Systems is expected to commit 70 billion won to LionRobotics' 100 billion won Series B at a 600 billion won pre-money valuation, ChosunBiz reports.

Hanwha Group is pushing a new investment of 70 billion won in LionRobotics, which develops military quadruped robots, ChosunBiz reports, citing the investment banking industry. Hanwha has decided to take part in LionRobotics' 100 billion won Series B and begun negotiations, with defence affiliate Hanwha Systems expected to lead and commit the 70 billion won.

The round reportedly values LionRobotics at 600 billion won before the new money, about six times its Series A valuation of around 100 billion won, and would give Hanwha about a 10% stake. Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-Kwan is said to have watched a demonstration of the company's robot. The investment would fill the "robot dog" gap among Korea's three defence groups.

LionRobotics was founded in October 2023 as a spin-off from KAIST's Robot Intelligence Laboratory by professor Hwangbo Je-Min, who contributed to the ANYmal quadruped at Switzerland's ANYbotics. Its Raibo robot uses reinforcement learning to cross slopes, stairs and sand, and in-house reducers and motors give it eight hours of operating time.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
