Google Releases NotebookLM App for Android and iOS
Google has launched its NotebookLM app for Android and iOS, expanding the AI-based note-taking service beyond desktop access. The announcement comes just before the Google I/O 2025 event, where further details about the app may be shared.
NotebookLM, initially launched in 2023, is designed to help users understand complex information through features like smart summaries and the ability to ask questions about documents. The mobile app introduces new functionalities such as Audio Overviews, which are AI-generated podcasts based on user-provided source materials, and supports background playback and offline access.
Users can create new notebooks, view existing ones, and add new sources from websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos directly to NotebookLM. The app also adapts to the device's system settings with light and dark mode options.
