Ambi Raises $26 Million for Background Listening AI App

Oct 12, 2026
Former Plaud executive Peter Mo's startup Ambi raised $26 million and released AI assistant apps for iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch.

Ambi, founded by former Plaud Inc. executive Peter Mo, raised $26 million across several funding rounds led by Luminous Ventures and Huaqin, according to TechCrunch. The startup also released apps for iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch.

The apps can listen in the background to capture context throughout the day. During meetings, Ambi can suggest information or begin tasks using data from calendars, earlier meetings, connected knowledge bases and the web. Users can continue tasks across devices.

Ambient capture is disabled by default and users can turn it off at any time. Ambi says it does not retain recordings and encrypts user data, but it did not specify the encryption method. The company also plans a desktop app that can observe work activity and a device with a screen, speaker, camera and microphones.
