GitLab Expands Anthropic Claude Integration for Enterprise AI Governance

GitLab has expanded its integration with Anthropic's Claude models, including the new Claude Opus 4.7, to enhance AI governance and flexibility for enterprise software development. The integration allows access through Google Cloud and AWS Bedrock within GitLab Duo Agent Platform, maintaining existing compliance and audit controls.

GitLab has expanded its integration with Anthropic's Claude models, announced in a press release. The update brings Anthropic's latest model, Claude Opus 4.7, into the GitLab Duo Agent Platform with full compliance, audit, and policy enforcement under GitLab's existing governance framework.

Enterprises can now access Claude models within GitLab through Google Cloud and AWS Bedrock, routing AI workloads through their existing cloud agreements and data residency structures. GitLab has also joined the Claude Marketplace, allowing customers to use GitLab credits toward Anthropic spending commitments.

The integration allows AI agents in GitLab Duo to perform tasks such as code generation, review, and vulnerability resolution while remaining subject to the same governance and audit processes as human developers. This ensures that all AI-driven actions within the software development lifecycle are recorded and controlled within GitLab's unified DevSecOps environment.

GitLab stated that this deeper integration supports agentic workflows where AI agents autonomously handle defined development tasks, maintaining enterprise oversight and compliance across planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
