Galaxy Digital Receives ERCOT Classifications for 4.2 GW of Texas Data Center Capacity
Galaxy Digital said in a press release that five Texas data center projects received classifications under the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Batch Zero process, covering about 4.2 GW of gross power capacity.
Helios I, with 800 MW, and Helios II, with 830 MW, were classified as Batch Zero Base Load. ERCOT approved Helios II in January 2026, and Galaxy expects to energize the project in 2028.
Caspian received a conditional Batch Zero Studied Load classification for 700 MW, although Galaxy submitted it as Base Load. Selene received the same classification for 900 MW, while a 1,000 MW load request for Helios III was also classified as Studied Load.
ERCOT issued the conditional classifications while conducting an audit and community impacts review following an August 3 directive from the Texas governor. The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted exceptions on August 20 that allow conditional classifications during the review, which ERCOT expects to take several months.
Galaxy's development pipeline exceeds 5.7 GW across four sites. It includes another 1,000 MW request at Helios and up to 500 MW at its Merlin campus in McGregor, Texas.
