Vantage Secures Over 1 GW of Heron Power Capacity for AI Data Centers
Vantage Data Centers secured over 1 GW of manufacturing capacity for Heron Link solid state transformers under an agreement with Heron Power, the companies announced on Vantage's website. Vantage plans to deploy the equipment at its hyperscale data center campuses for AI and cloud customers.
Heron Link converts medium voltage grid power directly to 800 VDC and includes energy storage. The design reduces the number of power conversion stages between the grid and server racks compared with conventional 480 VAC systems.
Heron Power targets efficiency above 98.5 percent from medium voltage to 800 VDC. The 800 VDC design is meant to support megawatt-class rack densities while reducing electrical equipment, floor space, materials and installation work.
