Fidelis Partnership Launches $250 Million Consortium to Insure AI Data Center Construction

November 10, 2025
The Fidelis Partnership has launched a new consortium to insure risks associated with the construction of AI data centers, establishing an initial capacity of $250 million with plans to expand in 2026.

The Fidelis Partnership has launched a consortium focused on insuring risks tied to the construction of artificial intelligence data centers, reports The Royal Gazette. The initiative targets a gap in market capacity for excess construction risk coverage as demand for AI infrastructure grows.

The consortium, backed by Fidelis Insurance Group and Fidelis Syndicate 3123, will provide an initial combined capacity of $250 million. Using its risk allocator model, the partnership plans to expand capacity further from January 1, 2026, with the addition of its Blackstone-backed Syndicate 2126.

Michael Davern, the firm's UK chief underwriting officer, said the consortium comes at a critical time as the number and scale of AI data centers increase. He noted that ensuring appropriate insurance capacity is vital for supporting these complex and high-value projects.

The launch adds to Fidelis Partnership’s existing consortiums in Space, ECAT, and Contingency lines, broadening its market presence in specialized insurance sectors.
