April 14, 2026
ETS, Khan Academy, and TED have announced the creation of the Khan TED Institute, a new higher education collaboration designed to prepare learners for AI-driven workplaces through affordable, skills-based programs.

The nonprofit organizations ETS, Khan Academy, and TED have announced the formation of the Khan TED Institute, a new higher education initiative built for the AI era, announced in a press release.

Unveiled at the TED conference in Vancouver, the Khan TED Institute will offer programs that combine academic foundations, applied artificial intelligence, and communication skills. The curriculum will be organized around three main areas: core subjects such as mathematics and computer science, applied AI development, and leadership and collaboration training.

The program will emphasize verified competencies over traditional seat time, allowing learners to progress at their own pace. It is expected to be priced under $10,000, with applications opening in 12 to 18 months.

Corporate partners including Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Bain & Company, McKinsey, and Replit are contributing to the program’s design to ensure alignment with workforce needs. The institute will also leverage TED’s global network and Khan Academy’s learning platform to connect students with real-world projects and professional mentors.
