Disney Tests OpenArt for AI Lyric Videos
Disney is testing AI tools from OpenArt to create lyric video concepts, starting with “Go the Distance” from the 1997 animated film “Hercules,” according to the Los Angeles Times. The platform analyzes a song's lyrics, mood and emotional tone to produce a storyboard preview.
Disney's creative teams can revise the storyboard and fine tune the resulting video. Disney said the tool lets teams generate and evaluate multiple concepts in hours rather than weeks.
The companies disclosed the commercial agreement at Disney Accelerator Demo Day on November 3. OpenArt was one of five AI companies in the accelerator's 2026 group.
The test comes as Disney pursues legal action against other AI companies over its intellectual property, including lawsuits against Midjourney and MiniMax.
