CoreWeave asks Texas governor-elect Gina Hinojosa to work together on data centres
CoreWeave has sent a letter to Texas governor-elect Gina Hinojosa seeking to work with her incoming administration on present and future data-centre projects in the state, the Taipei Times reports. "You have made clear that data center growth must work for Texas," co-founder and chief executive Michael Intrator said. "We strongly support those principles."
Intrator said CoreWeave welcomes "the opportunity to work with your transition team on the responsible completion of permitted projects and on clear, durable standards for future development."
Hinojosa, the first Democrat since 1990 to win the Texas governorship, pledged during her campaign to impose a statewide data-centre moratorium. She has since said she wants to balance Texas' business-friendly reputation with stiffer rules. After last week's midterms Democrats control 29 governors' mansions, and many are calling for moratoriums on data-centre construction.
