CLPS Incorporation Unveils AI-Driven COBOL-to-Java Migration Tool for Banks
CLPS Incorporation has launched an AI-driven solution to migrate legacy COBOL systems to Java, announced in a press release. The technology is designed to support financial institutions in modernizing their core banking infrastructure while maintaining operational stability.
The proprietary system uses large language models to perform semantic analysis and cross-language conversion tailored to financial applications. It also integrates a full-cycle development and verification process to ensure accurate preservation of COBOL business logic during migration.
Technical features include a knowledge graph construction method for undocumented systems, enabling the reconstruction of business rules through static and dynamic analysis. The AI-assisted framework is intended to reduce dependency on internal resources during the transition.
CLPS recently completed a proof-of-concept with a major bank in Hong Kong, demonstrating that the solution can convert COBOL code to Java while maintaining system stability and logic integrity. The company stated that the project highlights the potential of AI in accelerating digital transformation within the banking sector.
