Citizenry Prepares AI Civic Platform to Exit Beta

Citizenry is preparing its civic discovery platform to exit beta after six months of testing. The service uses AI to recommend volunteer opportunities, events and local resources.

Citizenry said in an announcement that its civic discovery and engagement platform is preparing to exit beta after six months of testing. The nonprofit platform includes more than 1,000 organizations and reaches about 3,000 users each month.

Citizenry aggregates volunteer opportunities, events, classes, patron programs and local resources. It uses recommendations and a personalized dashboard to present relevant options to each user. The service also provides information about local government and nonprofit board service, updates from elected officials and an AI assistant for navigating civic information.

Planned features will translate open city data into plain language answers at the neighborhood and block level. In a recent test in Jackson, Wyoming, Citizenry added more than 200 nonprofits and hundreds of local activities and resources. About 2,000 people visited the service during its first few days.
