Boston Consulting Group Commits $500 Million to AI for Social Impact by 2030
In a press release, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced it will commit $500 million by 2030 to the use of AI for social impact. The initiative will focus on organizations with the potential to achieve large scale system change.
BCG is collaborating with Anthropic's Beneficial Deployments team to help philanthropies and non-profits expand their impact across sectors such as education, health care, and poverty reduction. The company stated that this effort builds on its previous investments in social impact, which include 3.5 million hours of work and more than $1.5 billion invested since 2020.
BCG CEO Christoph Schweizer highlighted the role of AI in addressing societal challenges, while Jim Larson, global social impact leader at BCG, noted that the organization is well positioned to leverage AI for lasting change.
