LiveU Joins IBC Project to Develop Newsroom Context Standard

September 04, 2026
LiveU has joined the IBC Accelerator Incubator 2026 Smart Stories consortium, which is developing an open standard for sharing editorial context across newsroom systems.

LiveU announced in a press release that it has joined the IBC Accelerator Incubator 2026 Smart Stories consortium. The group is developing the Story Object Model, an open standard for structuring and sharing editorial context across newsroom production systems.

LiveU will connect its live acquisition and ingest workflow with the model. This will allow story context and metadata to move in real time between production tools from different vendors, including systems that use AI.

The project plans to produce a Story Object Model specification, a Skills reference architecture, a live demonstration involving multiple vendors, and a three tier integration guide before IBC2026. LiveU will participate in the Smart Stories showcase on September 12 at the Future Tech Stage in Hall 14.
