YouTube Introduces AI Music Tool for Creators

YouTube is launching a new feature that allows creators to generate custom instrumental music using AI technology. This update is part of the Creator Music marketplace, which was initially launched in 2023 to help creators find and license music for their videos. The new AI tool provides a free option for creators to enhance their content without worrying about copyright claims.

The feature is being gradually rolled out to creators with access to Creator Music. Users will find a 'Music Assistant' tab where they can describe the type of music they want, specifying details like instruments, mood, and video type. The AI then generates tracks that creators can download and use in their videos.

This development was highlighted in a recent update on YouTube's Creator Insider channel, where it was noted that the music generated is free to use, eliminating concerns over copyright issues. The tool is currently available to U.S. creators in the YouTube Partner Program.
