webAI has been chosen as an industry partner for the U.S. Army’s Project ARIA, a new initiative to rapidly deploy artificial intelligence capabilities to soldiers in the field. The company will contribute to Team Black, developing AI tools that operate directly on soldiers’ devices without relying on centralized infrastructure.

webAI has been chosen as an industry partner for the U.S. Army’s Project ARIA (Army Rapid Implementation of Artificial Intelligence), announced in a press release. The initiative brings together technology companies to create and deploy practical AI solutions for military operations.

Project ARIA was established following an AI Tabletop Exercise held in September 2025, hosted by Secretary of the Army Hon. Daniel P. Driscoll. It aims to accelerate the fielding of AI technology by partnering directly with industry, developing solutions in months instead of years.

webAI is contributing to Team Black, one of three initial focus groups within the project. Team Black is building a “Model Armory” that allows soldiers to describe their operational needs through a conversational interface, receiving custom AI capabilities tailored to their missions. These tools are designed to run locally on soldiers’ devices, even in environments with limited or no network connectivity.

The company’s technology enables AI to function at the tactical edge, supporting operations where communication networks may be contested or unavailable. webAI’s involvement focuses on ensuring that advanced, sovereign AI capabilities are accessible directly to warfighters in the field.
