UAE Introduces AI-Powered Regulatory Intelligence System
The UAE Cabinet has approved the launch of the world's first AI-powered regulatory intelligence ecosystem, marking a significant step in modernizing legislative processes. This initiative, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to enhance the speed and accuracy of lawmaking by integrating artificial intelligence into the drafting and updating of legislation.
The new system is designed to connect federal and local legislation with judicial rulings, government services, and executive procedures. By leveraging large-scale data, it will track the real-time impact of laws on citizens and the economy, proposing updates as necessary. The system is expected to reduce the time required for legislative drafting by up to 70% and will be managed by the newly established Regulatory Intelligence Office within the Cabinet's General Secretariat.
This AI-driven approach is unprecedented globally, as no other country has yet used AI to actively rewrite laws. The UAE's initiative aims to ensure that its legislative framework remains competitive and aligned with national development goals. Additionally, the system will be connected to global research centers to incorporate best international practices into UAE law.
