Trimble to Acquire Document Crunch for AI-Powered Risk Management in Construction

Trimble has signed an agreement to acquire Document Crunch, an AI company specializing in construction document analysis and risk management, announced in a press release. The acquisition will integrate document intelligence and compliance automation across the Trimble Construction One platform, with the transaction expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.

Document Crunch’s AI tools identify and mitigate project risks, including payment disputes, specification non-compliance, and notification failures. Its system is designed to prevent costly errors, reduce administrative workload, and embed compliance requirements directly into project management and ERP workflows.

According to Trimble, the technology will act as a “contractual rule set” across its construction suite, automatically surfacing obligations and compliance terms within project data. Document Crunch has been used on more than 10,000 projects and serves contractors, designers, owners, and insurers.

The acquisition will be reported under Trimble’s AECO segment and is not expected to significantly affect the company’s 2026 financial guidance.
