Schwarz Digits and Bull Plan European AI Computing Service
Schwarz Digits and Bull signed a preliminary agreement to develop AI computing services that operate entirely under European jurisdiction, according to Reuters.
Schwarz Digits will offer the service through STACKIT, its cloud computing and storage business. Bull will manufacture the infrastructure, while the companies will jointly design servers for the data centers.
STACKIT customers will be able to use Bull software to build and run AI applications directly on the service. The companies could also offer SAP business software through the partnership. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Schwarz Digits is the technology arm of Lidl owner Schwarz Group, which is leading a C$7 billion funding round for Canadian AI lab Cohere. Bull, the French state-owned supercomputer maker, doubled production capacity at its supercomputer plant in October.
