QBit Unveils Robotics and Drone Chip Roadmap
QBit Semiconductor unveiled its robotics and drone chipset roadmap at SEMICON Taiwan 2026, according to a company press release. The QB88XX series integrates control for up to 32 motors on one chip and targets dexterous robotic hands.
The system on chip combines four Arm Cortex-A78 processor cores, a neural processing unit, an Arm Cortex-M7, TGEN and a second neural processing unit for motor servo control. It also supports AI servo tuning, PCIe, USB, CAN Bus and camera interfaces.
For drones, QBit plans to use its QB77XX series in entry level products from 2026 to 2028. From 2029, it plans a drone specific QB88XX processor that combines flight control and mission computing, including optical flow control and target tracking.
QBit also demonstrated QB77XX tracking of a single object through visual occlusions at tested relative speeds of up to 60 km/h and flight times of 10 to 15 minutes. It plans to demonstrate tracking of multiple objects in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company said its QB7 series passed NIST CAVP validation for the post quantum ML-DSA algorithms in 2025, while its drone products include secure boot technology using post quantum cryptography.
