Ping An Launches Global AI-Powered Risk Mitigation Platform
Ping An Insurance has launched the global version of its AI-powered EagleX platform, announced in a press release. This platform offers disaster risk assessments, alerts, and claims services to help users worldwide respond to climate-related disasters.
The EagleX platform, initially launched in 2017, uses advanced technologies such as big data, meteorological disaster models, satellite remote sensing, and machine learning. It assesses risks for nine types of natural disasters and generates visualized risk maps, offering 15 types of alerts. The platform has been widely adopted across various insurance lines, including agricultural, property, and auto insurance.
In 2024, EagleX identified 3,619 high-risk cases and issued 10.5 billion disaster alerts, covering 67 million customers. The global version now features three core functions: Natural Disaster Risk Maps, Disaster Alert, and Satellite Monitoring. These functions provide comprehensive risk management services, including early disaster identification and post-disaster claims verification, to minimize losses globally.
