NSS Labs Introduces AI Protection Systems Test Framework

April 28, 2026
NSS Labs has released the AI Protection Systems test methodology, a framework for evaluating the security of enterprise AI deployments across eight key dimensions, including prompt injection resistance and data exfiltration prevention.

NSS Labs announced in a press release the release of its AI Protection Systems (AIPS) test methodology. The framework establishes a comprehensive structure for evaluating the security of enterprise AI deployments.

The AIPS methodology uses a multi-dimensional adversarial testing approach to reflect the complexity and unpredictability of modern AI threat environments. It assesses AI protection systems across eight dimensions: prompt injection resistance, data exfiltration prevention, system resilience, policy enforcement accuracy, agentic AI and tool invocation security, observability and auditability, performance and scalability, and cross-model integration.

NSS Labs is accepting feedback from enterprises and security vendors on the current version of the methodology until May 15.
