Northstar Enterprise + Defense Collaborates with Owens Corning on AI-Optimized Modular Data Centers
Northstar Enterprise + Defense has announced new advancements in its AI-optimized modular data center platform through a collaboration with Owens Corning, according to a press release. The partnership focuses on integrating advanced composite and insulation technologies into Northstar's Modular Data Center (MDC) product line to enhance durability, thermal performance, and sustainability.
Owens Corning will support material innovation and supply resilience by incorporating fiberglass recycling and optimized insulation into Northstar's MDCs. The initiative aims to strengthen low-carbon, high-resilience infrastructure for enterprise AI, telecom, and defense applications.
Northstar recently deployed a modular disaster recovery node for a major U.S. telecom provider and a full-scale modular data center for a Fortune 50 enterprise. These deployments demonstrate the company's ability to deliver AI-ready infrastructure quickly, with timelines shortened from years to months.
The company's MDCs are built with proprietary Fiber Reinforced Polymer composites, making them lighter than aluminum and deployable without heavy equipment. They support compute densities up to 150kW per rack and include features such as IoT-enabled monitoring, predictive maintenance, and full recyclability. Northstar also offers defense-grade SCIF modules designed to meet ICD-705, TEMPEST, and HEMP standards for secure computing environments.
