New Era Helium, Inc. has initiated the first phase of its 250MW net-zero AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data center project in Ector County, Texas, announced in a press release. The project, developed through a joint venture with Sharon AI, Inc. under Texas Critical Data Centers, LLC (TCDC), aims to have the majority of its power capacity operational by December 2026.

The data center campus, initially planned for 200 acres, has expanded to 235 acres, with the acquisition expected to close within 90 days. TCDC is advancing critical components such as lit fiber access, gas supply agreements, and power plant designs utilizing natural gas engines with CO2 carbon capture.

TCDC has launched a dedicated website, www.texascriticaldatacenters.com, to provide updates and information on the project. The joint venture is also in discussions with potential customers and engine providers to finalize its go-to-market strategy and infrastructure setup.
