Enbridge to Build 600 MW Solar Project for Meta's Data Centers
Enbridge has announced a final investment decision on the Clear Fork solar project, a 600-megawatt facility in Texas, announced in a press release. The project, located near San Antonio, is expected to be operational by the summer of 2027. Meta Platforms, Inc. has signed a long-term contract to purchase 100% of the renewable energy generated by the facility.
The Clear Fork project represents a significant investment in renewable energy, with an estimated cost of $0.9 billion. Enbridge anticipates that the project will contribute positively to its cash flow and earnings per share starting in 2027. This initiative underscores the increasing demand for renewable energy from major technology companies, particularly those involved in data center operations.
