New Era Helium's JV Secures 235-Acre Site for AI Data Center in Texas

New Era Helium, Inc. and Sharon AI, Inc.'s joint venture, Texas Critical Data Centers LLC (TCDC), has closed on the acquisition of a 235-acre site in Ector County, Texas, announced in a press release. The site, purchased from Grow Odessa, is intended for the development of a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) campus.
The facility is designed to scale beyond 1 GW to meet the increasing demand for AI and GPU infrastructure. It will incorporate advanced energy solutions, cooling systems, and potentially carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
TCDC has also signed a letter of intent to acquire an additional 203 acres, expanding the site to a total of 438 acres. The location is strategically positioned near essential infrastructure, including fiber optic cables and natural gas transmission lines, which will support the data center's operations. To facilitate the buildout, TCDC plans to form an Industrial District with the City of Odessa, allowing access to municipal services while maintaining favorable zoning regulations.
