Calpine and CyrusOne Partner for Texas Data Center Project
Calpine Corporation and CyrusOne have announced a significant partnership to develop a new data center in Bosque County, Texas. The agreement, announced in a press release, involves a 190-megawatt power supply to support the facility, which is currently under construction and expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2026.
The new data center, named DFW10, will be constructed by CyrusOne and will initially cover over 190,000 square feet. The project is designed with scalability in mind to meet future demand and will incorporate climate-neutral initiatives and capabilities to respond during ERCOT grid emergencies. This development represents a $1.2 billion infrastructure investment.
Calpine's Powered Land Capabilities (PLC) will play a crucial role in this project, offering scalable and reliable power solutions for hyperscale customers. The collaboration aims to enhance grid reliability across Texas while supporting the growing demand for data infrastructure driven by AI and other digital technologies.
