Meta Acquires Manus AI for Over $2 Billion
Meta Platforms is acquiring Manus AI, a Singapore-based artificial intelligence startup founded by Chinese entrepreneurs, in a transaction valued at over $2 billion, announced in a company blog post.
Manus gained attention earlier in 2025 after releasing a general-purpose AI agent capable of performing tasks such as research and automation. The company reported reaching millions of users and over $100 million in annual recurring revenue within eight months of launch. Its subscription-based service will continue to operate from Singapore under Meta's ownership.
Meta plans to integrate Manus’s technology into its existing platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, while maintaining the Manus brand and operations. Manus’s co-founder and CEO, Xiao Hong, will remain in charge of the team, reporting to Meta’s Chief Operating Officer.
The acquisition follows Meta’s series of AI-focused investments and partnerships, as the company continues expanding its portfolio of AI products and infrastructure.
