Mars Invests £190 Million in UK Factory to Add Robotics and AI Manufacturing Capabilities
Mars announced in a press release a £190 million investment in its Slough chocolate factory to expand advanced manufacturing and digital capabilities. The initiative is part of the company’s wider plan to invest €1 billion across the European Union.
The Slough site produces brands including Mars, Galaxy, and Snickers for the UK market and exports to countries such as Ireland and the Netherlands. The investment will introduce new manufacturing systems that combine robotics and AI with upgraded machinery.
Mars also plans to install advanced cooling systems and energy efficient utilities to improve performance and sustainability. In addition, the investment will support extensive workforce training, creating new opportunities in advanced engineering, automation, and data enabled manufacturing roles.
