Hexagon to Acquire Guidance Marine for Maritime Positioning Sensors

Hexagon has agreed to acquire Guidance Marine, a UK maritime sensor company focused on relative positioning for vessels near offshore platforms, wind turbines, quaysides, and other ships.

Hexagon said in a press release it has agreed to acquire Guidance Marine, a maritime sensor company based in Leicester, United Kingdom.

Guidance Marine makes radar, laser, vision, and microwave sensing systems that measure a vessel's position relative to nearby structures, including offshore platforms, wind turbines, quaysides, and other vessels. Its systems are used with major Dynamic Positioning systems, which keep vessels in place without anchoring.

Hexagon said Guidance Marine's relative positioning sensors will complement its GNSS, positioning correction, anti jamming, and assured positioning systems. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, after which Guidance Marine will become part of Hexagon's NovAtel Positioning Division within its Autonomous Solutions Business Area.

Guidance Marine serves customers in more than 40 countries. The company generated about €22 million in revenue in the financial year ended December 31, 2025.
