Hyundai Motor Plans AI Data Center and Robotaxi Production

Hyundai Motor laid out plans for AI data collection, Level 2+ autonomous systems, a 100 megawatt AI data center, expanded robotaxi supply to Waymo, and robotics commercialization with Boston Dynamics.

Hyundai Motor outlined an autonomous driving and robotics roadmap at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, announced in a press release. The roadmap includes Atria AI data collection in Korea this year, Level 2+ driving on its first software defined vehicle in 2028 with NVIDIA, and a 100 megawatt AI data center with more than 50,000 GPUs from 2029.

Robotaxi deliveries to Waymo are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. Hyundai plans United States robotaxi production from 2028 with annual capacity of 30,000 units.

Hyundai also listed robotics commercialization with Boston Dynamics, including work on distribution and financing. The company also plans to expand its robotics manufacturing and automation capacity during the same period.

Hyundai reaffirmed a target of 5.55 million global vehicle sales by 2030, with electrified vehicles reaching 60 percent of sales. Its first extended range electric vehicle models are planned for the first half of 2027, and the Santa Fe version is planned for production in Alabama.
