Gestala Raises $84 Million for Ultrasound Brain Interface Work

Gestala raised about $84 million in two financing rounds during its first six months. The Chinese startup is developing ultrasound based brain computer interface technology and plans to unveil its first product and brain foundation model by the end of 2026.

Gestala raised RMB 570 million, about $84 million, in two financing rounds during its first six months, the company announced in a press release. The Shanghai and Chengdu startup launched on January 1, 2026, and is developing ultrasound based brain computer interface technology.

Gestala completed a RMB 150 million angel round in March and a RMB 420 million Angel+ round in July. Investors in the latest round included HSG, Lens Technology, Sinovation Ventures and C Capital, with additional investments from Dalton Venture, Seas Capital, Tsing Song Capital and Gobi Partners.

The company is working on a platform intended to read brain activity across large areas and modulate selected neural circuits using ultrasound. It also plans to build a multimodal brain foundation model that combines neural activity, cerebral blood flow, medical imaging and behavior data.

Gestala has selected chronic pain as its first target indication and plans to study other neurological and psychiatric conditions, including depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and stroke rehabilitation. The company said it plans to unveil its first generation ultrasound brain computer interface product and brain foundation model by the end of 2026.
