Lumonus has announced a collaboration with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to advance automated radiation therapy treatment planning, according to a press release.

As part of the partnership, Lumonus will license and co-develop MSK’s ECHO mathematical optimization engine within its Lumonus AI platform. The companies will also invest in joint research focused on improving automation in radiation therapy planning.

ECHO uses constraint-based mathematical methods to generate radiation therapy treatment plans from first principles. Developed over nearly a decade and supported by peer-reviewed research, the system has been used clinically to enhance the consistency and quality of treatment planning.

The collaboration aims to combine ECHO’s optimization methods with Lumonus’ workflow automation tools to enable broader adoption of automated planning in radiation oncology.
