Local Media Consortium Starts AI Accelerator for Local Media Companies
The Local Media Consortium announced in a press release the launch of AI Accelerator, a program for local media companies to assess and plan AI use. The program includes a partnership with Stellis AI to run an AI Readiness & Digital Tech Stack Assessment for participating members.
The assessment reviews each organization’s technology environment, AI readiness, operational priorities, and possible areas for implementation. LMC said a survey for the assessment began on August 25.
Participating organizations will receive individual findings and recommendations. LMC said those results will remain proprietary to the participating organizations and LMC, while aggregated insights will guide future education, programming, partnerships, and member resources.
The assessment is supported by funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of the News Media Help Desk, an online resource created by LMC and The Reynolds Journalism Institute.
