Lambda has raised $480 million in a Series D funding round, bringing its total equity capital to $863 million, announced in a press release. The round was co-led by Andra Capital and SGW, with participation from notable investors such as Nvidia, ARK Invest, and G Squared.

The new funding will be used to expand Lambda's AI cloud platform, which provides infrastructure and services for AI model training, fine-tuning, and inferencing. Lambda's offerings include the Lambda Cloud platform, Lambda Model Inference API, and Lambda Chat AI Assistant. The company has also introduced self-serve and on-demand GPU clusters for AI model training, known as 1-Click Clusters.

Lambda CEO and co-founder Stephen Balaban highlighted the company's growth in deploying open source models like DeepSeek-R1, which has increased demand for Nvidia's H200 chips. The investment will also support the purchase of additional Nvidia chips to enhance Lambda's cloud capabilities.
