Johnson Controls Invests in Accelsius for Advanced Data Center Cooling
Johnson Controls has announced a multi-million dollar strategic investment in Accelsius, a company specializing in two-phase, direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology for data centers, announced in a press release. This investment aims to address the critical need for efficient cooling solutions in data centers, which account for 30% to 40% of a facility's total energy consumption.
Accelsius' two-phase solutions utilize a 'phase change' from liquid to vapor to effectively remove heat, thereby reducing energy consumption. This technology is particularly important as the demand for high-density data centers grows, driven by advancements in AI. Johnson Controls, known for its innovative YORK® YVAM magnetic bearing chiller, continues to push the boundaries of energy efficiency and sustainability in data center cooling solutions.
