ITRI Showcases AI Systems for Water, Robotics and Drones

ITRI presented 25 technologies in Tainan, including AI systems for water leak detection, language therapy, industrial monitoring, agriculture, robotics and autonomous drones.

Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) showcased 25 technologies at ITRI Innovation Day in Tainan on September 15, 2026, the institute said in a press release. The event covered sustainability, intelligent systems and unmanned vehicles.

The exhibits included an AI water leak detection system estimated to save about 21.87 million cubic meters of water annually. Other systems included rotating machinery monitoring with prediction accuracy above 90%, AI assisted language therapy that improved language abilities in 81% of cases, precision aquaculture and fruit grading technology that can reduce labor costs by 30% to 50%.

ITRI also presented robots for inspection, agriculture, healthcare and hazardous environments. Its unmanned vehicle technologies included a fishing fleet system that triples fish search efficiency, a drone communications system with a range above nine kilometers, a fuel cell drone that can carry five kilograms for three hours and autonomous navigation for environments without GNSS signals.
