ISC2 has launched the ISC2 Building AI Strategy Certificate and six related courses to equip cybersecurity professionals with the skills needed to securely implement AI technologies. Announced in a press release, the program aims to address the skills gap in AI security, as identified by ISC2 research, which found that over one-third of cybersecurity professionals see AI as a major skills shortfall.

The certificate program includes six on-demand courses totaling 16 hours, covering topics such as AI fundamentals, managing AI-related risks, and secure-by-design initiatives. These courses are available individually, and ISC2 members can earn continuing professional education credits upon completion. The initiative is designed to help cybersecurity teams effectively deploy AI solutions and capitalize on career growth opportunities in an AI-centric workplace.

According to ISC2's 2025 AI Adoption Survey, 42% of respondents are exploring AI security tools, with 70% of those already using such tools reporting positive impacts on their team's effectiveness. This new certificate program aims to further enhance the capabilities of cybersecurity professionals in navigating the evolving landscape of AI technologies.
