Infosys Develops AI Agent to Optimize Energy Sector Operations

Infosys has introduced an AI agent designed to enhance operational efficiency in the energy sector. The solution combines Infosys Topaz, Infosys Cobalt, and Microsoft’s AI and cloud tools to automate reporting and improve decision-making.

Infosys has developed an AI agent aimed at improving workflows in the energy sector, announced in a press release. The solution integrates Infosys Topaz, Infosys Cobalt, and Microsoft’s AI and cloud capabilities, including Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Foundry Models, and ChatGPT-4o.

The AI agent automates report generation and converts real-time operational data into actionable insights through conversational AI. It processes various data types such as well logs, images, charts, and tables to help operators anticipate challenges, minimize delays, and improve safety and reliability.

According to Infosys, the system enhances decision-making by providing predictive insights and early warnings, ultimately improving drilling quality, operational performance, and reducing non-productive time. Microsoft’s partner development vice president Stephen Boyle said the collaboration combines deep industry expertise with advanced AI and cloud technologies to deliver measurable business value.
