Indosat and Nokia Partner for AI-Driven Energy Efficiency
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has partnered with Nokia Corporation to implement AI-driven energy management solutions aimed at reducing energy demand and carbon emissions across its nationwide radio access network. This initiative, announced in a press release, leverages Nokia's Energy Efficiency module from its Autonomous Networks portfolio.
The solution uses artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to analyze real-time traffic patterns, allowing Indosat to automatically adjust or shut down idle radio equipment during periods of low network demand. This approach not only reduces energy consumption but also maintains network performance and customer experience.
The deployment is part of Indosat's broader transformation into an AI-powered technology company, focusing on sustainability and digital innovation. The AI-driven energy management system can be rolled out quickly and is available as a software-as-a-service model, eliminating the need for large upfront capital expenditures and on-site maintenance.
This collaboration builds on a successful pilot project where the AI-powered solution demonstrated its effectiveness in live network conditions, leading to its deployment across Indosat's network in regions such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Central and East Java.
