Nexus Core Systems to Build AI Factory in Morocco

Nexus Core Systems, supported by a global consortium including Lloyds Capital, NAVER Cloud, and Maroc Telecom, has announced plans to construct an AI factory in Morocco. The facility will be powered by 500 MW of renewable energy, as announced in a press release.

The project aims to transform Morocco's industries by providing advanced AI infrastructure. Located near Europe, the facility will leverage Morocco's geographic advantage to deliver sovereign compute capacity to the European market. The first phase, set to launch in Q1 2026, will feature over 40 MW of next-generation AI accelerators for large-scale model training.

NAVER Cloud will deploy its hyperscale cloud platform, integrating the CLOVA AI suite and zero-trust security architecture, to ensure data sovereignty and compliance across EMEA. Maroc Telecom will lead commercial distribution efforts, supporting national AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives.

The initiative is expected to enhance AI capabilities across the region, supporting services like foundation model training, multimodal inference, and high-performance data processing.
