IBM Acquires Hakkoda to Boost AI Consultancy Services
IBM has acquired Hakkoda, a New York-based data and AI consultancy, to expand its consulting capabilities in AI and data transformation services. In a press release, IBM announced that the acquisition will enhance its ability to deliver AI-powered business operations by integrating Hakkoda's expertise in data migration, modernization, and monetization.
Hakkoda, an award-winning partner of Snowflake, brings a strong portfolio of generative AI-powered assets and industry solutions, particularly in financial services, public sector, and healthcare. The acquisition will see Hakkoda's consultants join IBM's consulting division, further strengthening IBM's position in the AI consultancy market.
The acquisition, which closed on April 2, 2025, is part of IBM's ongoing strategy to invest in AI and automation technologies. This follows IBM's recent acquisitions of DataStax and HashiCorp, as the company continues to enhance its AI capabilities and consulting services.
